Who wants to be a missionary?

Maranatha! What brought this on? Just a little something I found in the newspaper, that's all. Maranatha is now my "word" of the day. Hehe.....

I've been hearing some rather interesting views lately, especially the new (all right its new only to me) concept of "reverse missionaries". Essentially, it means that people from countries which are traditionally regarded as non-Christian/pagan will go to countries that used to send missionaries. Imagine, Asian and African missionaries spreading the gospel to America and Europe! That thought somehow makes me giddy.

Anybody can tell that so-called Christian nations are in fact increasingly reverting back to paganism, while in other parts of the world the reverse is increasingly becoming true. In one article I read (accuracy needs to be confirmed), there are more Christians in Africa than in America and Europe combined!

Yet, there are still some who in their arrogance and ignorance assume that things are as they were. Christianity has never been a western religion. It did not originate there but in the Middle East. Now, it is going back there, going full circle, and taking others that were not reached with it.

So, who wants to go to North America and Europe as missionaries? Be warned that you will face prosecution. Yet, consider it as doing them a favour. Once they brought the gospel to you, now you will take it back to them.

PS: Remember also the minority groups in China. They still need translations of the Bible in their own languages.
